You may not copy, modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, resell, sublicense, exploit, interfere with, or create derivative works from the Platform Content or Services except as expressly allowed by these Terms or applicable law.
Dragon's Quill reserves all rights not expressly granted.
9. User Content Ownership
9.1 You Keep Ownership
You retain ownership of your User Content, subject to any rights you have granted to others.
Dragon's Quill does not claim ownership of your stories, chapters, characters, worlds, author notes, comments, reviews, messages, or other User Content merely because you post them on Dragon's Quill.
9.2 You Are Responsible for Your Content
You are solely responsible for your User Content.
By submitting User Content, you represent and warrant that:
- you own the content or have all rights needed to submit it;
- your content does not infringe or violate any copyright, trademark, privacy right, publicity right, contractual right, trade secret, moral right, or other right;

Dragon's Quill does not independently verify ownership of every story, chapter, cover, comment, review, or message.
9.3 Collaborations and Co-Authors
If you publish content created with another person, you are responsible for ensuring that you have permission to do so.
Unless Dragon's Quill separately agrees in writing, Dragon's Quill does not determine or enforce private ownership splits, copyright shares, revenue splits, royalty arrangements, co-author agreements, editing agreements, ghostwriting agreements, or off-platform collaboration terms.
9.4 Fan Works and Third-Party Materials
Dragon's Quill does not grant you permission to use third-party characters, settings, franchises, trademarks, artwork, lyrics, images, or protected materials.
If you post fan works, adaptations, references, quotations, images, covers, lyrics, or third-party materials, you are responsible for ensuring that your use is lawful and permitted.
Dragon's Quill may remove, restrict, demonetize, or disable access to content in response to rights complaints, legal risk, payment-processor concerns, or platform policy.
9.5 AI-Assisted Content
Dragon's Quill may adopt separate rules for AI-assisted or AI-generated content.
Unless and until a separate policy says otherwise, you are responsible for any content you submit, including content created with automated tools, AI tools, writing assistants, editing tools, image generators, or similar technologies.

Dragon's Quill may require disclosure, labeling, restriction, removal, or demonetization of AI-assisted content where needed for reader trust, legal compliance, platform quality, or payment-processor compliance.
10. License You Grant to Dragon's Quill
10.1 Hosting and Display License
When you submit User Content to Dragon's Quill, you grant Dragon's Quill a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, transmit, publish, make available, reformat, excerpt, index, cache, backup, process, analyze, and otherwise use your User Content as needed to operate, provide, improve, protect, promote, and support the Services.
This license allows Dragon's Quill to:

- display paid or restricted content to users who have access;
- show previews, excerpts, blurbs, metadata, tags, titles, covers, chapter listings, search results, and discovery snippets;
- format content for reader preferences, accessibility settings, themes, fonts, screen sizes, mobile layouts, and technical compatibility;
- include content in story pages, chapter pages, shelves, discovery surfaces, Hoard surfaces, profile pages, notifications, search results, recommendations, moderation tools, admin tools, and support tools;

- preserve records needed for legal compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, tax records, accounting records, payout records, purchase history, refund handling, chargebacks, moderation, appeals, and support.
10.2 No Ownership Transfer
The license you grant to Dragon's Quill does not transfer ownership of your story to Dragon's Quill.
It does not give Dragon's Quill the right to sell your story as a standalone book, ebook, audiobook, film, television adaptation, merchandise line, or separate commercial work outside the Dragon's Quill Services without your separate agreement.
10.3 Public Content
If you publish content publicly, you authorize Dragon's Quill to make that content available to users and visitors according to your visibility settings and platform rules.
10.4 Paid and Restricted Content
If you publish Early Access content, paid content, scheduled content, restricted content, or private/draft content, you authorize Dragon's Quill to process, store, display, restrict, unlock, and make that content available according to applicable access rules, purchases, subscriptions, author permissions, admin permissions, moderation requirements, and platform policies.
10.5 Promotional Use Within the Platform
Dragon's Quill may use your public story title, author display name, cover image, blurb, tags, excerpts, public metrics, and similar public metadata to feature, recommend, rank, categorize, promote, or describe your story within Dragon's Quill.
Dragon's Quill may also use public content previews in emails, notifications, social previews, landing pages, and marketing materials for Dragon's Quill, provided that Dragon's Quill does not present itself as the owner or author of your work.
10.6 Content Removal and License Survival
You may remove or unpublish certain User Content using available tools, subject to these Terms and applicable policies.
However, copies or records may persist where needed for:
- backups;
- technical logs;
- moderation records;
- reports and appeals;
- legal compliance;
- security;
- fraud prevention;
- tax, payment, accounting, payout, refund, or chargeback records;
- purchase history;
- support records;
- content already interacted with by other users, such as comments, replies, reviews, references, or moderation evidence;
- paid content subject to the Paid Chapter Deletion / Unpublishing Policy.
Removing content from public view does not automatically erase all copies, records, or obligations.
11. Author Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for the stories, chapters, covers, blurbs, tags, genres, author notes, content warnings, publication schedules, Early Access settings, free-release settings, pricing selections, and other materials they publish or configure.
Authors agree not to:
- publish content they do not have the right to publish;
- plagiarize or falsely present someone else's work as their own;
- misrepresent authorship, ownership, originality, chapter length, paid access, free-release timing, or subscription value;
- manipulate reviews, likes, dislikes, follows, comments, rankings, purchases, subscriptions, or analytics;
- review, rate, purchase, or subscribe to their own content in a misleading way;

- hard-delete, unpublish, or remove paid content in violation of the Paid Chapter Deletion / Unpublishing Policy;
- use Dragon's Quill to run scams, deceptive promotions, fraudulent payment activity, or artificial engagement schemes.
Authors who enable monetization must also comply with the Author Monetization Terms, Payout Policy, Refund Policy, Mature Content and Monetization Eligibility Policy, Reader Purchase and Subscription Terms, and any other applicable monetization rules.
12. Reader and Community Responsibilities
Readers and community participants agree to use Dragon's Quill respectfully, honestly, and lawfully.

13. Reviews, Ratings, Reader Notes, and Feedback
Dragon's Quill may allow readers to leave comments, reviews, category feedback, helpful votes, likes, dislikes, and other forms of feedback.
You agree that:
- your reviews and feedback must reflect your honest opinion;
- you may not post fake, deceptive, coerced, paid, retaliatory, or manipulated reviews;
- you may not offer, request, buy, sell, or trade reviews, likes, ratings, follows, comments, or other engagement;
- you may not review your own work or use another account to do so;
- authors may not pressure readers to leave only positive feedback;
- authors may not retaliate against readers for honest criticism;
- readers may not use reviews to harass authors or other users;
Dragon's Quill may remove, limit, label, investigate, or reduce the effect of reviews or engagement that appear manipulated, abusive, fraudulent, spammy, irrelevant, or improper.
Dragon's Quill does not guarantee that reviews, ratings, Reader Notes, likes, dislikes, or other feedback are accurate, representative, complete, fair, unbiased, or free from manipulation.
14. Prohibited Conduct
You may not use Dragon's Quill to do any of the following.
14.1 Illegal, Harmful, or Abusive Conduct
You may not:
- violate any applicable law or regulation;
- encourage, facilitate, or participate in illegal activity;

- post or share non-consensual intimate content;
- exploit, sexualize, endanger, groom, or abuse minors;

- post malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, defamatory, or misleading content;
- post malware, phishing attempts, scams, or harmful code;

- intentionally miscategorize, mistag, or mislabel content to deceive readers;
- hide prohibited content in hover notes, hidden blocks, images, metadata, links, author notes, formatting, or other technical features.
14.3 Platform Abuse
You may not:
- scrape, crawl, harvest, copy, extract, or bulk download content or data without Dragon's Quill's permission;
- use Dragon's Quill content or data to train, fine-tune, build, test, populate, or improve artificial intelligence models, datasets, search indexes, recommendation systems, or competing services without authorization;
- bypass paywalls, access controls, account restrictions, rate limits, security measures, or technical protections;
- access non-public APIs, systems, routes, databases, storage, admin tools, or moderation tools without authorization;

- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code except where allowed by law;
- overload, disrupt, damage, or attack the Services;
- use bots, scripts, automation, fake accounts, or coordinated behavior to manipulate the platform.
14.4 Payment, Purchase, and Monetization Abuse
You may not:
- make fraudulent purchases;
- use stolen payment methods;
- abuse refunds or chargebacks;
- purchase your own content;
- manipulate author earnings;
- evade platform fees;

- create accounts to evade bans, suspensions, restrictions, blocks, payment holds, or moderation actions;
- help another user evade enforcement;
- conceal prohibited activity;
- retaliate against users who report content or conduct;
- submit false, abusive, or bad-faith reports.
15. Mature Content and Content Eligibility
Dragon's Quill may allow stories with mature themes, subject to platform rules.
Authors are responsible for using accurate tags, warnings, ratings, descriptions, and disclosures where required.
Dragon's Quill may restrict, label, age-limit, demonetize, remove, or otherwise limit content that involves mature themes, sexual content, violence, abuse, hate, exploitation, illegal conduct, or other sensitive material.
Some content may be allowed on Dragon's Quill but not eligible for monetization.
Dragon's Quill may disable monetization for a story, chapter, author, or account if content creates legal risk, safety risk, payment-processor risk, reader-trust risk, or policy concerns.
Unless a later written policy expressly allows it, explicit erotic or pornographic paid content is not eligible for monetization.
Content involving sexual exploitation, minors in sexual contexts, non-consensual sexual content, coercive sexual content, or unlawful sexual material is prohibited.
The Mature Content and Monetization Eligibility Policy provides more detail.
16. Payments, Purchases, Subscriptions, and Early Access
16.1 Payment Policies
Dragon's Quill may offer paid Early Access chapters, One-Time Unlocks, chapter bundles, Binge Packages, Story Subscriptions, and other paid features.
Paid features are governed by these Terms and by applicable payment policies, including:
- Reader Purchase and Subscription Terms;
- Refund Policy;
- Author Monetization Terms;
- Payout Policy;
- Paid Chapter Deletion / Unpublishing Policy;
- Mature Content and Monetization Eligibility Policy;
- checkout notices and product-specific disclosures shown at purchase.
16.2 Early Access Is Not Permanent Exclusivity
Dragon's Quill's primary monetization model is Early Access.
Early Access means readers may pay to read Advance Chapters before those chapters become free or broadly available.
Unless a checkout page expressly says otherwise, readers are paying for early access, not permanent exclusivity.
A chapter becoming free later according to its release schedule is not, by itself, a refund event.
16.3 One-Time Unlocks
A One-Time Unlock grants continuing account-based access to the specific chapter or chapters included in that purchase, subject to these Terms, applicable policies, refunds, chargebacks, moderation removal, legal requirements, account restrictions, technical limitations, and content availability rules.
A One-Time Unlock does not automatically include future chapters unless the purchase page expressly says so.
16.4 Bundles and Binge Packages
A bundle or Binge Package unlocks only the chapters identified or included at the time of purchase.
Future Advance Chapters are not included unless the checkout page expressly says otherwise.
Dragon's Quill may exclude already-owned chapters from bundle pricing where technically supported.
16.5 Story Subscriptions
A Story Subscription provides temporary access to eligible Advance Chapters for one story while the subscription is active.
Story Subscriptions do not create permanent ownership of chapters unless you separately purchase those chapters through a One-Time Unlock or other purchase that expressly grants continuing access.
If a subscription is canceled, expires, fails payment, is refunded, is charged back, or otherwise ends, subscription-based access may end according to the Reader Purchase and Subscription Terms.
Free chapters and separately purchased chapters may remain accessible according to the applicable access rules.
16.6 Failed Subscription Payments
If a subscription renewal payment fails, Dragon's Quill may provide a grace period before subscription access ends.
After the grace period, if payment is not successfully completed, subscription-only access may be removed or restricted.
16.7 No Site Currency
Dragon's Quill does not use coins, credits, tokens, wallet balances, or site-wide stored currency unless a later written policy says otherwise.
Purchases are made in real currency through supported payment methods.
16.8 Payment Processors
Payments may be processed by Stripe or another third-party payment processor.
By making a purchase, subscribing, enabling monetization, or receiving payouts, you may also be subject to the payment processor's terms, policies, identity verification, tax requirements, prohibited business rules, fraud controls, dispute processes, and privacy practices.
Dragon's Quill is not responsible for payment processor outages, restrictions, declines, account holds, verification requirements, payment-method limitations, processing delays, or processing errors except where required by law.
16.9 Taxes, Fees, and Currency
Prices may not include all applicable taxes unless stated.
Taxes, payment processing fees, payout fees, currency conversion, refunds, chargebacks, and other adjustments may apply.
Taxes collected from readers are not author earnings and are not Dragon's Quill platform-fee revenue.
16.10 Refunds and Chargebacks
Digital purchases are generally final once access is granted, but limited refunds may be available under the Refund Policy.
Refunds may affect access.
Chargebacks and payment disputes may result in access restrictions, account review, payout holds, ledger adjustments, or other action.
Abuse of refunds, disputes, or chargebacks may lead to account restriction or termination.
17. Author Monetization
Authors may be allowed to monetize eligible Early Access content if they satisfy Dragon's Quill's requirements.
To enable monetization, authors may be required to:
- accept the Author Monetization Terms;
- be at least 18 years old;
- verify email and account information;
- complete Stripe or other payment onboarding;
- provide tax, identity, and payout information;
- comply with content eligibility rules;
- comply with word-count, short-chapter, free-release, and disclosure requirements;
- comply with refund, deletion, unpublishing, subscription, and payout rules;
- maintain an account and stories in good standing.
Dragon's Quill may deny, pause, disable, limit, or revoke monetization for any author, story, chapter, or account if required by policy, law, payment processor rules, fraud prevention, moderation, reader protection, platform risk management, or business judgment.
Dragon's Quill does not guarantee that any author will earn money, receive subscribers, receive purchases, maintain visibility, qualify for payouts, or remain eligible for monetization.
18. Platform Fees and Author Earnings
Dragon's Quill may charge a platform fee on monetized transactions.
Unless otherwise stated in the Author Monetization Terms, Dragon's Quill's MVP platform fee is 5% of applicable monetized transactions.
Payment processing fees, taxes, refunds, chargebacks, payout fees, currency conversion, reserves, adjustments, and other costs are separate from Dragon's Quill's platform fee and may reduce final author payouts.
Authors should not rely on gross purchase amounts as guaranteed payout amounts.
Author earnings, payout eligibility, payout timing, minimum payout thresholds, payout holds, negative balances, reversals, chargebacks, tax requirements, and payout methods are governed by the Author Monetization Terms and Payout Policy.
19. Paid Content Removal, Unpublishing, and Deletion
Authors may not freely hard-delete, remove, or unpublish paid content in a way that violates reader access rights, payment records, refund obligations, subscription expectations, or Dragon's Quill policy.
If paid content has been purchased, accessed through a bundle, accessed through a subscription, or included in author earnings, Dragon's Quill may:
- restrict deletion;
- require admin review;
- require notice to affected readers;
- preserve purchase records;
- preserve evidence and financial records;
- cancel subscriptions;
- consider refunds;
- hold or adjust author earnings;
- remove or restrict content for moderation or legal reasons.
- Making a paid chapter free is generally allowed, subject to platform rules.
Moderation removal, legal removal, payment-processor requirements, or safety restrictions may override paid access.
The Paid Chapter Deletion / Unpublishing Policy provides more detail.
20. Blocking, Reporting, and Safety Tools
Dragon's Quill may provide blocking, reporting, moderation, and appeal tools.
Blocking generally affects interaction, such as messaging, comments, replies, following, and profile interaction. Blocking does not automatically revoke valid paid reading access unless these Terms, a specific policy, a moderation action, or law requires otherwise.
Reports should be submitted in good faith.
You may not abuse reporting tools to harass users, suppress lawful criticism, manipulate competition, retaliate against others, or create false records.
Dragon's Quill may review reports, preserve evidence, restrict content, restrict accounts, contact users, decline action, or take any action we consider appropriate under these Terms.
21. Moderation and Enforcement
Dragon's Quill may, but is not required to, monitor, review, screen, edit, label, restrict, remove, preserve, or restore User Content or accounts.
Dragon's Quill may take enforcement action if we believe, in our discretion, that content or conduct:
- violates these Terms;
- violates a Dragon's Quill policy;
- violates law;
- infringes rights;
- creates safety, fraud, legal, payment, or platform risk;
- harms readers, authors, users, or Dragon's Quill;
- threatens platform integrity;
- is inconsistent with the purpose of the Services.
Enforcement actions may include:
- warnings;
- content labels;
- content warnings;
- age restrictions;
- visibility limits;
- search or discovery limits;
- comment restrictions;
- messaging restrictions;
- account restrictions;
- temporary suspensions;
- permanent bans;
- monetization disablement;
- payout holds;
- purchase restrictions;
- story or chapter removal;
- report escalation;
- legal compliance action;
- referral to payment processors or law enforcement where appropriate.
Dragon's Quill may consider context, severity, user history, intent, risk, and impact when taking enforcement action.
Dragon's Quill is not required to explain every enforcement decision in detail, especially where doing so could compromise safety, privacy, fraud prevention, moderation integrity, security, legal compliance, or another user's rights.
22. Appeals
Dragon's Quill may offer appeal tools for certain moderation, account, content, or monetization actions.
Appeals must be submitted honestly and respectfully.
Submitting an appeal does not guarantee restoration of content, account access, monetization, payouts, purchases, subscriptions, or visibility.
Dragon's Quill may decline appeals, uphold decisions, modify decisions, or take additional action based on new information.
Some actions may not be appealable, including actions required by law, payment processors, security concerns, fraud controls, serious safety issues, or legal compliance.
23. Account Restriction, Suspension, and Termination
23.1 Termination by You
You may stop using Dragon's Quill at any time.
You may request account deletion or anonymization through available account tools or by contacting support at support@dragonsquill.net.
Account deletion may affect access to purchases, subscriptions, Author Studio, drafts, messages, comments, reviews, Hoard records, reading progress, payout history, and other account-based features.
Before deleting your account, you are responsible for canceling subscriptions, exporting content where available, resolving payout issues, and preserving any records you need.
23.2 Termination or Restriction by Dragon's Quill
Dragon's Quill may restrict, suspend, or terminate your account or access to the Services at any time if we believe you violated these Terms, violated law, harmed the platform, created risk, abused other users, engaged in fraud, infringed rights, or otherwise used the Services improperly.
Dragon's Quill may also restrict or terminate access if we discontinue services, are required to do so by law, are required to do so by a payment processor, or determine that continued service would create unreasonable risk.
23.3 Effect of Termination
If your account is restricted, suspended, or terminated:
- you may lose access to account features;
- you may lose access to drafts, messages, comments, reviews, Hoard records, and reading progress;
- purchases or subscriptions may be restricted according to applicable law and policy;
- active subscriptions may be canceled or prevented from renewing;
- author monetization may be disabled;
- payouts may be held, reversed, or adjusted according to the Payout Policy;
Dragon's Quill may retain records needed for legal, tax, accounting, payment, dispute, security, fraud-prevention, moderation, support, or compliance purposes.
Termination does not automatically erase obligations you incurred before termination.
24. Copyright and DMCA Policy
Dragon's Quill respects intellectual property rights and expects users to do the same.
Because Dragon's Quill allows users to upload, publish, display, comment on, review, and otherwise submit content, copyright disputes may arise. This section explains how copyright owners may notify Dragon's Quill of claimed infringement and how users may respond if they believe their content was removed or restricted by mistake.
24.1 Copyright Complaints
If you believe that content on Dragon's Quill infringes your copyright, you may send a written notice to Dragon's Quill's designated copyright agent.
Designated Copyright Agent:
Dragon's Quill Copyright Agent
Dragon's Quill LLC
Mailing Address:
502 W 7th ST
STE 100
Erie, PA, 16502, USA
Email: dmca@dragonsquill.net
Phone: (717) 325-9635
Your copyright notice should include all of the following:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, or, if multiple works are involved, a representative list of those works;
- identification of the material you claim is infringing and information reasonably sufficient to help Dragon's Quill locate it, such as the URL, story title, chapter title, username, profile link, or description;
- your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, the copyright owner's agent, or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
Dragon's Quill may reject or decline to act on incomplete, unclear, abusive, fraudulent, or bad-faith notices.
24.2 Removal or Restriction After a Copyright Notice
If Dragon's Quill receives a copyright notice that appears valid, Dragon's Quill may remove, disable, restrict, demonetize, or limit access to the allegedly infringing content.
Dragon's Quill may also notify the user who posted the content, preserve relevant records, restrict monetization, hold related earnings, suspend access to affected content, or take other action under these Terms.
Removal or restriction of content in response to a copyright complaint does not mean Dragon's Quill has concluded that infringement occurred. It means Dragon's Quill is responding to a claimed rights issue according to its platform procedures.
24.3 Counter-Notices
If your content was removed or restricted because of a copyright complaint and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice.
A counter-notice should include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the material that was removed or disabled and where it appeared before removal;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled because of mistake or misidentification;
- your name, address, telephone number, and email address;
- a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or, if your address is outside the United States, the federal courts located in Pennsylvania;
- a statement that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original copyright notice or that person's agent.
Dragon's Quill may forward your counter-notice to the person who submitted the original complaint.
Dragon's Quill may restore the removed content if permitted by law and platform policy, unless the copyright claimant notifies Dragon's Quill that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the allegedly infringing activity.
Dragon's Quill may decline to restore content if the content independently violates these Terms, another Dragon's Quill policy, payment-processor rules, safety rules, or applicable law.
24.4 Repeat Infringers
Dragon's Quill may terminate or restrict users who repeatedly infringe copyrights or repeatedly submit infringing content.
Dragon's Quill may use a flexible repeat-infringer policy that considers:
- the number of valid copyright complaints;
- the severity of the alleged infringement;
- whether the user submitted a valid counter-notice;
- whether the dispute appears to involve bad faith, plagiarism, piracy, impersonation, or commercial abuse;
- whether the content was monetized;
- whether the user has a history of rights violations;
- whether continued access creates legal, financial, reader-trust, or platform risk.
Dragon's Quill may terminate an account after repeated valid copyright complaints, but Dragon's Quill may also act sooner in serious cases.
Dragon's Quill may also suspend monetization, hold payouts, restrict uploads, remove content, disable stories, or preserve evidence while copyright issues are reviewed.
24.5 False or Abusive Copyright Claims
You may be legally responsible for submitting false, misleading, or bad-faith copyright notices or counter-notices.
You may not use copyright complaints to harass users, suppress lawful criticism, interfere with competitors, attack similar but non-infringing works, or misuse Dragon's Quill's reporting systems.
Dragon's Quill may restrict accounts that submit abusive, fraudulent, or bad-faith copyright complaints.
24.6 No Legal Determination by Dragon's Quill
Dragon's Quill is not a court and does not decide final copyright ownership.
Dragon's Quill may remove, restrict, restore, or decline to restore content based on the information available to us, but those actions do not determine legal ownership or infringement.
Users are responsible for resolving private authorship, ownership, licensing, collaboration, plagiarism, copyright, and contract disputes outside of Dragon's Quill unless a Dragon's Quill policy applies.
25. Trademarks
"Dragon's Quill," the Dragon's Quill name, logos, icons, branding, page designs, product names, feature names, and related marks are trademarks, service marks, trade dress, or branding of Dragon's Quill.
You may not use Dragon's Quill branding in a way that suggests sponsorship, endorsement, partnership, employment, official status, or affiliation without written permission.
You may not register domain names, usernames, social media handles, company names, products, services, or marks that imitate, misuse, or are confusingly similar to Dragon's Quill's branding.
Authors and users retain responsibility for ensuring that their own story titles, series names, pen names, covers, logos, and branding do not infringe third-party trademarks or other rights.
26. Feedback and Suggestions
If you submit ideas, comments, bug reports, feature requests, designs, suggestions, improvements, names, concepts, or other feedback to Dragon's Quill, you grant Dragon's Quill a perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to use, copy, modify, develop, display, distribute, commercialize, and otherwise exploit that feedback for any purpose without compensation to you.
Dragon's Quill is not required to treat feedback as confidential.
Dragon's Quill may already be developing similar features, ideas, designs, or concepts. Submitting feedback does not give you ownership of Dragon's Quill features, platform changes, business plans, designs, code, policies, or improvements.
This section does not give Dragon's Quill ownership of your stories or other User Content. It applies only to feedback, suggestions, and ideas you provide about Dragon's Quill.
27. Third-Party Services
Dragon's Quill may rely on third-party services for hosting, authentication, databases, storage, email, analytics, moderation, accessibility, payments, payouts, tax handling, customer support, security, error logging, and other platform functions.
Third-party services may include payment processors, hosting providers, database providers, authentication providers, storage providers, analytics tools, email services, content delivery networks, accessibility tools, and other vendors.
Your use of certain features may be subject to third-party terms, policies, limitations, fees, identity verification, tax requirements, fraud controls, availability, and privacy practices.
Dragon's Quill is not responsible for third-party services, websites, tools, policies, outages, errors, delays, restrictions, account holds, declines, data practices, or content except where required by law.
Links to third-party websites or services do not mean Dragon's Quill endorses, controls, guarantees, or accepts responsibility for those third parties.
28. Beta, Preview, and Experimental Features
Dragon's Quill is an evolving platform. Some features may be new, unfinished, experimental, temporary, in beta, in preview, or subject to change.
Beta, preview, or experimental features may:
- contain bugs;
- change without notice;
- be removed or limited;
- work differently across devices or accounts;
- produce incomplete analytics or estimates;
- be unavailable at times;
- lose draft or test data;
- have incomplete documentation;
- be replaced by different features later.
- Dragon's Quill may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time.
Where payment or monetization features are involved, Dragon's Quill will make reasonable efforts to preserve purchase records, author ledger records, tax records, payout records, and access records as required by applicable policy and law.
You should not rely on any beta, preview, or experimental feature as guaranteed, permanent, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose.
29. Availability and Changes to the Services
Dragon's Quill may change, suspend, limit, interrupt, or discontinue all or part of the Services at any time.
Dragon's Quill does not guarantee that:
- the Services will always be available;
- the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free;
- any story, chapter, comment, review, message, profile, notification, analytics page, payout page, or purchase surface will always be available;
- any feature will remain available permanently;
- any content will remain visible, ranked, recommended, discoverable, monetizable, or accessible forever;
- any user will receive any specific amount of traffic, followers, comments, reviews, purchases, subscriptions, earnings, or visibility.
Dragon's Quill may perform maintenance, updates, migrations, security changes, moderation changes, access-control changes, policy changes, or emergency actions that affect availability.
Dragon's Quill may impose limits on storage, uploads, drafts, publishing, comments, messages, reports, API usage, rate limits, notifications, purchases, subscriptions, payouts, or other features.
30. Data Loss and Backups
Dragon's Quill may store drafts, chapters, stories, comments, reviews, messages, reading progress, Hoard records, analytics, purchase records, subscription records, payout records, and other data.
Dragon's Quill uses reasonable efforts to maintain platform reliability, but no online service can guarantee that data will never be lost, corrupted, delayed, deleted, overwritten, mis-synced, or unavailable.
Authors are responsible for keeping their own backup copies of important stories, chapters, notes, outlines, drafts, images, records, and other materials.
Readers and authors should not rely on Dragon's Quill as the only storage location for important content.
Dragon's Quill is not responsible for loss of User Content, drafts, analytics, messages, reading progress, or other data except where required by law.
31. No Professional Advice
Dragon's Quill may display content related to writing, publishing, monetization, analytics, reader behavior, moderation, platform policies, tax categories, payment processing, or author tools.
Dragon's Quill does not provide legal, tax, accounting, financial, investment, medical, mental health, professional publishing, literary agency, editorial, or business advice.
Authors are responsible for their own business, tax, accounting, legal, publishing, copyright, and financial decisions.
Readers are responsible for their own purchasing and subscription decisions.
Any platform guidance, help text, estimates, examples, analytics, fee explanations, or educational content is provided for general informational purposes only.
32. Disclaimers of Warranties

- the total amount you paid to Dragon's Quill for the Services during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
- one hundred U.S. dollars.
This limitation applies regardless of the theory of liability, including contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, warranty, statute, or otherwise, even if Dragon's Quill has been advised of the possibility of damages.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where liability cannot legally be limited.
34. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Dragon's Quill and its owners, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, service providers, licensors, successors, and assigns from and against any claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, judgments, settlements, costs, expenses, and fees, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to:

Dragon's Quill may control the defense of any matter subject to indemnification, and you agree to cooperate with Dragon's Quill's defense.
You may not settle any claim in a way that imposes obligations on Dragon's Quill, admits fault by Dragon's Quill, or affects Dragon's Quill's rights without Dragon's Quill's written consent.
35. Release
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release Dragon's Quill and its owners, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, service providers, licensors, successors, and assigns from claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of or related to disputes between you and other users or third parties.

Dragon's Quill may choose to assist with reports, moderation, support, or enforcement, but doing so does not make Dragon's Quill responsible for user disputes.
If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code Section 1542 to the extent permitted by law. That section says:
- "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party."
If you live outside California, you waive any similar law, rule, or doctrine to the extent permitted by law.
36. Governing Law
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
This governing-law provision does not override mandatory consumer protection rights that cannot be waived under the laws of your jurisdiction.
37. Informal Dispute Resolution
Before filing a lawsuit, you and Dragon's Quill agree to try to resolve disputes informally.
A party with a dispute must first send a written notice describing the dispute, the relief requested, and contact information.
Notices to Dragon's Quill should be sent to:
- Dragon's Quill
Email: legal@dragonsquill.net
Mailing Address:
502 W 7th ST
STE 100
Erie, PA, 16502, USA
After a notice is sent, the parties will attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
Either party may proceed to court after the 30-day informal resolution period ends, unless the dispute is resolved earlier.
This informal dispute process does not prevent either party from seeking emergency injunctive relief where necessary to protect intellectual property, safety, security, confidential information, platform integrity, or legal rights.
38. Venue and Jurisdiction
Subject to the informal dispute resolution section above, you and Dragon's Quill agree that any lawsuit arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania, unless applicable law requires a different venue.
You and Dragon's Quill consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
If Dragon's Quill later adopts an arbitration agreement, class-action waiver, or other dispute process, that change will be presented in updated Terms and may require separate acceptance where appropriate.
39. Injunctive Relief
You agree that certain violations of these Terms may cause irreparable harm to Dragon's Quill or others.
Dragon's Quill may seek injunctive or equitable relief without first completing the informal dispute resolution process for matters involving:
- intellectual property infringement;
- unauthorized access;
- scraping;
- AI-training misuse;
- security threats;
- privacy violations;
- harassment or safety threats;
- fraud;
- payment abuse;

Dragon's Quill makes no representation that the Services, content, paid features, monetization features, subscriptions, payout features, or payment methods are available, lawful, or appropriate in every country or region.
You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you.
Dragon's Quill may restrict access to the Services or certain features based on location, legal requirements, payment-processor availability, tax readiness, sanctions rules, fraud risk, safety concerns, or business decisions.
Paid features, taxes, prices, payment methods, subscriptions, monetization eligibility, and payout availability may vary by region.
41. Export, Sanctions, and Legal Compliance
You may not use Dragon's Quill in violation of U.S. export control laws, sanctions laws, anti-money laundering laws, anti-corruption laws, or other applicable laws.
You may not use Dragon's Quill if you are located in, ordinarily resident in, organized under the laws of, or subject to sanctions in a country, region, entity, or person list where use is prohibited by applicable law.
Dragon's Quill may restrict accounts, purchases, subscriptions, monetization, or payouts where required by law, payment processors, sanctions screening, fraud prevention, or compliance review.
42. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms, your account, your rights, or your obligations without Dragon's Quill's prior written consent.
Dragon's Quill may assign or transfer these Terms, in whole or in part, in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, financing, change of control, corporate restructuring, or transfer of the Services.
43. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
If necessary, a court may modify an invalid or unenforceable provision to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its intent as much as possible.
44. No Waiver
Dragon's Quill's failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not waive Dragon's Quill's right to enforce that provision later.
A waiver is effective only if made in writing by an authorized representative of Dragon's Quill.
45. No Partnership or Agency
These Terms do not create a partnership, joint venture, employment relationship, franchise relationship, fiduciary relationship, agency relationship, or exclusive relationship between you and Dragon's Quill.
Authors are independent users of the platform. Authors are not employees, agents, representatives, partners, or contractors of Dragon's Quill unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.

These Terms replace any prior or contemporaneous understandings, communications, proposals, or agreements regarding the Services, unless a separate written agreement signed by Dragon's Quill says otherwise.
