Dragon's Quill is a home for web fiction: for readers who follow stories chapter by chapter, and for authors who build stories one update at a time.
It was started by people who read and write online fiction ourselves. We know the rhythm of waiting for the next chapter, digging through crowded platforms for something worth reading, and watching authors send their most dedicated readers somewhere else just to offer advance chapters.
Dragon's Quill exists because serial fiction deserves a platform built around how it actually works.

For readers
Dragon's Quill is designed around the habits of serial-fiction readers: finding stories, following updates, saving what looks interesting, continuing where you left off, and reading without fighting the interface.
Your Hoard keeps your reading organized. Story pages are built to help you understand what you are starting before you commit. Chapters are meant to feel simple, readable, and comfortable across themes, devices, and accessibility settings.
When you choose to support a story, the goal is to make that support clear and direct. No site currency. No confusing credit system. No artificial games around access. You should know what you are unlocking, when advance chapters become free, and how your support reaches the author.
Dragon's Quill is built to make reading feel less scattered, less noisy, and more intentional.
For authors
Dragon's Quill gives authors a dedicated workspace for drafting, scheduling, editing, organizing chapters, tracking performance, and eventually offering paid early access directly through the platform.
The monetization model is intentionally simple: authors can offer advance chapters to readers, and Dragon's Quill takes onlu a 5% platform fee. Payment processing and required adjustments still exist, but the platform cut is designed to stay low so more reader support reaches the writer.
Just as important, Dragon's Quill is being built with discovery in mind. A platform cannot help authors if new stories vanish immediately beneath whatever is already popular. Better shelves, clearer metadata, stronger organization, and more thoughtful discovery systems are central to the project.
Authors should be able to build momentum without needing five separate tools, an outside subscription page, and constant luck in an overcrowded feed.
For the community
Dragon's Quill is being built with moderation, reporting, blocking, appeals, and content policies as part of the foundation. The goal is not to make the site sterile or overly controlled. The goal is to make it legible, fair, and safe enough that people can actually settle in.
The community should support discussion without turning every story into a battleground. Reviews should help readers understand a work and help authors learn from real feedback. Comments should belong to the chapter experience without overwhelming it.
Dragon's Quill is still growing, and it will change as authors and readers use it. But the core idea will stay the same:
A platform for serial fiction should serve the people who make the stories and the people who read them.
