Some financial, legal, tax, moderation, security, and audit records may be retained even after account deletion or content removal.

- scheduling status;

Private, draft, scheduled, restricted, or paid/protected chapter content may still be stored even when it is not publicly visible.
Dragon's Quill is designed so that paid or protected chapter body content is not intentionally exposed in public or locked reader payloads.

This information helps Dragon's Quill provide reading progress, Hoard features, recommendations, notifications, author analytics, access control, and platform improvements.
7. Author Analytics and Platform Analytics
Dragon's Quill may collect, derive, and display analytics for platform operations and author tools.
Analytics may include:

- chapter opens;
- chapter reads;
- reading progression;
- completion metrics;
- continuation metrics;
- focused reading time;
- impressions;
- entries;
- follows;
- comments;
- reviews;

Analytics shown to authors may be aggregated, delayed, estimated, incomplete, rounded, or filtered.

If you are an author who uses or applies for monetization, Dragon's Quill may collect and store monetization-related information.

If you make a payment, subscribe, request a refund, dispute a transaction, or complete author payout onboarding, you may be directed to Stripe-hosted pages, Stripe checkout, Stripe billing portals, or Stripe onboarding flows.

When you delete or request deletion of your account, Dragon's Quill may delete, anonymize, disassociate, restrict, or retain information depending on the type of information and the reason it is needed.
Account deletion may affect:
- your profile;
- your Hoard;
- reading progress;
- follows;
- saved stories;
- comments;
- reviews;
- messages;
- notifications;
- drafts;
- author tools;
- published stories;
- purchases;
- subscriptions;
- author monetization;
- payout eligibility;
- support records.
Some content may remain visible, anonymized, or preserved where needed to maintain discussion integrity, story integrity, moderation history, legal compliance, financial records, or platform operations.
For example, Dragon's Quill may preserve certain comments, reviews, moderation records, purchase records, refund records, chargeback records, payout records, ledger records, tax records, and legal acceptance records even after account deletion.
22. Financial, Legal, and Compliance Retention
Because Dragon's Quill includes paid digital content, subscriptions, author payouts, refunds, chargebacks, and legal acceptance records, certain information may need to be retained longer than ordinary account data.
Dragon's Quill may retain:
- purchase records;
- purchase item records;
- access grants;
- subscription records;
- cancellation records;
- renewal records;
- grace-period records;
- refund records;
- dispute and chargeback records;
- ledger records;
- payout records;
- payout hold records;
- tax records;
- Stripe-linked IDs;
- webhook event IDs;
- audit logs;
- legal acceptance records;
- moderation and enforcement records;
- support records.
These records may be retained for legal compliance, tax, accounting, payment processing, refund handling, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, platform enforcement, support, and audit purposes.
Deleting your account or removing content does not automatically delete financial, legal, tax, moderation, support, or audit records.
23. Security
Dragon's Quill uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information.
These measures may include:
- authentication controls;
- role-based access controls;
- database permissions;
- storage permissions;
- encryption in transit where supported;
- secure third-party providers;
- audit logs;
- moderation tools;
- admin security controls;
- fraud-prevention measures;
- backup and recovery practices;
- access restrictions for sensitive systems.
- No online service can guarantee perfect security.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for using a secure email account and device.
If you believe your account has been compromised, contact Dragon's Quill promptly.
24. Children's Privacy
Dragon's Quill is not intended for children under 13.
You may not use Dragon's Quill if you are under 13 years old.
If Dragon's Quill learns that it has collected personal information from a child under 13 without required consent, Dragon's Quill may delete the information, restrict the account, or take other appropriate action.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to Dragon's Quill, contact us at support@dragonsquill.net.
Users who are at least 13 but under the age of legal majority where they live should use Dragon's Quill only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.
Authors must be at least 18 to enable monetization or receive payouts unless Dragon's Quill later adopts a separate parent/guardian-managed monetization process.
25. International Users
Dragon's Quill may be operated from the United States and may use service providers located in the United States or other countries.
If you access Dragon's Quill from outside the United States, your information may be processed, transferred, stored, or accessed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your country.
Dragon's Quill may restrict certain features, purchases, subscriptions, monetization, or payouts based on country, region, tax readiness, payment processor availability, sanctions requirements, legal requirements, or platform decisions.
26. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information.
These rights may include the ability to:
- access certain information;
- correct certain information;
- delete certain information;
- export certain information;
- object to certain processing;
- restrict certain processing;
- withdraw certain consent;

Dragon's Quill may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
Some information may not be deleted or changed where retention is needed for legal, tax, accounting, payment, refund, chargeback, fraud-prevention, security, moderation, support, or compliance purposes.

Depending on your location and whether Dragon's Quill is subject to applicable state privacy laws, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws.
These may include rights to:
- know what personal information is collected;
- access personal information;
- correct personal information;
- delete personal information;
- receive a portable copy of certain information;
- opt out of certain sales, sharing, or targeted advertising if applicable;
- limit certain uses of sensitive personal information if applicable;
- not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.
Dragon's Quill does not currently sell personal information in the ordinary meaning of selling data for money.
If Dragon's Quill later uses advertising, targeted advertising, cross-context behavioral advertising, data-sharing tools, or analytics providers that trigger state privacy opt-out rights, this Privacy Policy and related notices should be updated.

Dragon's Quill may send marketing or promotional communications if it later supports those features and if permitted by law.
You may be able to opt out of marketing communications.
Even if you opt out of marketing communications, Dragon's Quill may still send service-related, account, security, legal, purchase, subscription, moderation, and transactional communications.
At MVP, Dragon's Quill may focus primarily on transactional and operational communications.
If Dragon's Quill later adds newsletters, promotional emails, creator marketing tools, or third-party email marketing providers, this Privacy Policy may be updated.
30. Automated Processing and Recommendations
Dragon's Quill may use automated or semi-automated systems to support platform features.
These systems may help with:
- story discovery;
- shelves;
- recommendations;
- search;
- spam detection;
- fraud detection;
- access control;
- moderation queues;

- subscription health signals;
- abuse prevention;
- security monitoring.
Automated systems may rely on information such as reading activity, engagement, story metadata, tags, reports, account activity, purchase state, and moderation signals.
Dragon's Quill may review automated outputs manually where appropriate.
Dragon's Quill does not guarantee that recommendations, rankings, moderation queues, or analytics are perfect, complete, or error-free.
31. Third-Party Links and External Sites
Dragon's Quill may contain links to third-party websites, author websites, social media pages, payment processor pages, documentation, or external resources.
Dragon's Quill is not responsible for the privacy practices, content, security, or policies of third-party websites or services.
If you visit a third-party site, that site's privacy policy applies.
32. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Dragon's Quill may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If Dragon's Quill makes material changes, Dragon's Quill may provide notice by posting the updated policy, changing the "Last Updated" date, emailing users, showing an in-product notice, requiring acknowledgment, or using another reasonable method.
Your continued use of Dragon's Quill after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you acknowledge the updated policy.
Dragon's Quill may update this Privacy Policy when live Stripe Connect, tax handling, payout compliance, KYC, analytics, email, customer support, hosting, or other provider details are finalized or changed.

Do not send full payment card numbers, full bank account numbers, passwords, or highly sensitive identity documents by ordinary email unless Dragon's Quill specifically instructs you to use a secure method.
34. User Acknowledgment
By using Dragon's Quill, you acknowledge that:
- Dragon's Quill collects and uses information as described in this Privacy Policy;
- Dragon's Quill stores account, content, reading, community, moderation, legal, purchase, subscription, and monetization records needed to operate the platform;
- Supabase may process information as part of authentication, database, storage, and backend services;
- Stripe may process information as part of payments, subscriptions, refunds, disputes, and author payout onboarding;
- Google may process information if you use Google Sign-In;
- some records may be retained after account deletion or content removal where needed for legal, tax, accounting, payment, security, moderation, fraud-prevention, support, or compliance purposes;
Dragon's Quill generally does not directly store full card numbers, CVC/CVV codes, or full bank account numbers in its first-party application database.
