Dragon's Quill is an online serialized-fiction platform for story discovery, long-form reading, author publishing, reader libraries, comments, reviews, messaging, notifications, moderation, and paid Early Access content.

Dragon's Quill generally does not directly store full payment card numbers, CVC/CVV codes, or full bank account numbers. Those are handled by Stripe or the applicable payment processor.

Some financial, legal, tax, moderation, security, and audit records may be retained even after account deletion or content removal.

For chapters, Dragon's Quill may store:

plain-text projections or derived text where used for search, counts, previews, or compatibility;
opening notes;

author notes;
publication status;
scheduling status;
publish dates;
free-release dates for monetized chapters;
paid/free access settings;
word-count information;
short-chapter exception labels;
revision or autosave-related data;

moderation or monetization status.

Private, draft, scheduled, restricted, or paid/protected chapter content may still be stored even when it is not publicly visible.

Dragon's Quill is designed so that paid or protected chapter body content is not intentionally exposed in public or locked reader payloads.

Direct messages are intended for the participants in the conversation, but Dragon's Quill may access, preserve, or review message data for safety, moderation, legal compliance, abuse prevention, support, or platform integrity.

This information helps Dragon's Quill provide reading progress, Hoard features, recommendations, notifications, author analytics, access control, and platform improvements.

7. Author Analytics and Platform Analytics

Dragon's Quill may collect, derive, and display analytics for platform operations and author tools.

Analytics may include:

chapter opens;
chapter reads;
reading progression;
completion metrics;
continuation metrics;
focused reading time;
impressions;
entries;
follows;
comments;
reviews;
ratings;
engagement trends;
notification engagement;
purchase activity summaries;

Analytics shown to authors may be aggregated, delayed, estimated, incomplete, rounded, or filtered.

Dragon's Quill may use analytics to operate the platform, improve features, provide creator insights, detect abuse, support monetization, and maintain platform quality.

If you are an author who uses or applies for monetization, Dragon's Quill may collect and store monetization-related information.

Dragon's Quill may store chapter access and monetization settings, including:

whether a chapter is free or Early Access;

Sensitive payment credentials and payout credentials are handled primarily by Stripe or the applicable Payment Processor.

Stripe may collect and process personal information under its own privacy policy and legal terms.

If you make a payment, subscribe, request a refund, dispute a transaction, or complete author payout onboarding, you may be directed to Stripe-hosted pages, Stripe checkout, Stripe billing portals, or Stripe onboarding flows.

Dragon's Quill may update this Privacy Policy when production Stripe Connect, tax, identity verification, payout compliance, or live finance workflows are finalized or expanded.

You may be able to manage some notification settings, but certain service, legal, security, account, payment, moderation, or transactional communications may still be sent where necessary.

If Dragon's Quill later adds external email, customer support, CRM, or marketing providers, this Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect those providers.

Do not submit information to public or social features unless you are comfortable with the intended visibility of that feature.

Dragon's Quill generally does not intend to show authors full raw payment credentials, full card numbers, or full bank account numbers.

Author analytics may be aggregated, delayed, estimated, or limited to protect user privacy and platform integrity.

Dragon's Quill may share information with service providers that help operate the platform.

Dragon's Quill does not give authors your full raw payment credentials.

Dragon's Quill does not claim ownership of your stories merely because you publish them on the platform.

Dragon's Quill may use public content and public metadata as described in the Terms of Service to operate, display, promote, and improve the platform.

Dragon's Quill retains information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, feature, legal requirements, platform needs, account status, and whether the information is needed for ongoing services.

Some content may remain visible, anonymized, or preserved where needed to maintain discussion integrity, story integrity, moderation history, legal compliance, financial records, or platform operations.

For example, Dragon's Quill may preserve certain comments, reviews, moderation records, purchase records, refund records, chargeback records, payout records, ledger records, tax records, and legal acceptance records even after account deletion.

22. Financial, Legal, and Compliance Retention

Because Dragon's Quill includes paid digital content, subscriptions, author payouts, refunds, chargebacks, and legal acceptance records, certain information may need to be retained longer than ordinary account data.

Dragon's Quill may retain:

purchase records;
purchase item records;
access grants;
subscription records;
cancellation records;
renewal records;
grace-period records;
refund records;
dispute and chargeback records;
ledger records;
payout records;
payout hold records;

Stripe-linked IDs;

blocked or removed content may be represented by placeholders.

Do not submit information to public or social features unless you are comfortable with the intended visibility of that feature.

Dragon's Quill may share certain reader interaction and analytics information with authors.

story views;
chapter reads;
completion or progression metrics;
comments;
reviews;
follows;
ratings;
engagement trends;
purchase/subscription summaries;
aggregate monetization metrics.

Dragon's Quill generally does not intend to show authors full raw payment credentials, full card numbers, or full bank account numbers.

Author analytics may be aggregated, delayed, estimated, or limited to protect user privacy and platform integrity.

18.3 With Service Providers

Dragon's Quill may share information with service providers that help operate the platform.

Dragon's Quill does not directly store full card numbers, CVC/CVV codes, or full bank account numbers in its first-party application database.

Dragon's Quill does not give authors your full raw payment credentials.

Dragon's Quill does not claim ownership of your stories merely because you publish them on the platform.

Dragon's Quill may use public content and public metadata as described in the Terms of Service to operate, display, promote, and improve the platform.

20. Data Retention

Dragon's Quill retains information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, feature, legal requirements, platform needs, account status, and whether the information is needed for ongoing services.

Dragon's Quill may retain information to:

provide your account;
maintain stories, chapters, comments, reviews, messages, and Hoard features;

author monetization;
payout eligibility;

22. Financial, Legal, and Compliance Retention

Dragon's Quill may retain:

purchase records;
purchase item records;
access grants;
subscription records;
cancellation records;
renewal records;
grace-period records;
refund records;
dispute and chargeback records;
ledger records;
payout records;
payout hold records;
tax records;
Stripe-linked IDs;
webhook event IDs;
audit logs;
legal acceptance records;
moderation and enforcement records;
support records.

These records may be retained for legal compliance, tax, accounting, payment processing, refund handling, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, platform enforcement, support, and audit purposes.

Deleting your account or removing content does not automatically delete financial, legal, tax, moderation, support, or audit records.
